The drama unfolds as Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati, once a known figure in a respected religious circle, now faces serious trouble! Several female students from the Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management in Delhi have accused this self-styled godman of sexual harassment. And guess what? These shocking claims have led to a full police investigation. The accused, formerly called Swami Parthasarathy, was not just a visitor but a management committee member at the institute. The police raids uncovered something eye-catching — a fancy Volvo car parked in the basement with a fake diplomatic number plate reading "39 UN 1," used by the Swami himself! This isn't the first time Swami Saraswati is in hot water. He has past allegations too – a fraud and molestation case from 2009 at Defence Colony Police Station, and another molestation complaint in 2016 at Vasant Kunj Police Station. The latest complaint, filed on August 4 at the Vasant Kunj North Police Station, got the police to act swiftly. They took statements from 32 female students on EWS scholarships, out of whom 17 said Swami Saraswati sent obscene messages, used abusive words, and made unwanted physical advances. Isn't that shocking? Even more troubling are the claims that three female faculty members and administrators at the institute helped the accused by pressuring students to give in to his demands. The police are still investigating their roles. A special police officer shared, "Their role is currently under investigation, and the full extent of their involvement will be determined once Saraswati is apprehended." A case was registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and 16 victims gave statements before a magistrate. The Volvo car was seized, and a second FIR was lodged on August 25. However, Saraswati is still on the run. Adding spice to the tale, the Sri Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasamsthanam Dakshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham in Karnataka, with whom Saraswati was once linked, has now loudly distanced itself from him. A public statement clearly said, "Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati... has engaged in activities that are illegal, inappropriate, and detrimental to the interests of... Sringeri Peetham." They have even filed complaints against him with authorities. The Peetham also mentioned the AICTE-approved Sri Sharadha Institute of Indian Management-Research, run by a Governing Council led by Dr Krishna Venkatesh, aiming to protect students and keep the education running smoothly. Meanwhile, police are hunting high and low for Saraswati. Multiple teams are raiding his known hideouts in Delhi, Agra, and nearby states. One source said, "Teams have been conducting raids at his known hideouts... where his last location was found." The police revealed they've collected tons of evidence – from CCTV footage to digital chats and call records. These are being carefully checked to build the case. The accused, originally from Odisha, has been living in a Delhi ashram for 12 years but keeps changing spots and avoids phones to escape arrest. According to a police officer, "The allegations are serious, involving multiple victims, and we are pursuing the case with priority." Despite the chase, Saraswati remains out of reach, but the police vow to catch him soon. The community waits with bated breath. Will justice be served? Stay tuned for updates as this gripping saga continues to unfold!
