Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Launches ‘Rangla Punjab’ Flood Fund, Slams Modi & Raises Vote Chori Alarm

September 28, 2025

Hold on tight, Punjab is cooking up a storm! Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has kicked off the 'Rangla Punjab' fund, a fresh and fiery new effort to speed up relief for those hit hard by the floods. Mann said, "Every penny contributed will be judiciously utilised for the welfare of those affected by the floods." Why a new fund? Well, the old Chief Minister's Relief Fund had its hands tied — CSR donations aren’t allowed, and MPs can chip in only up to 20 lakh rupees. So, Rangla Punjab was born, and it’s already grabbing attention with many jumping in to help. When Congress leader Partap Singh Bajwa asked if the fund reports under RTI, Mann confidently replied, "We will inform you of the daily funding received." Plus, the CM himself is the chairman of this fund, taking charge personally. But the drama didn’t stop at flood relief. Mann threw some sharp punches at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of being "least bothered" about the real problems of Indians because he’s busy jet-setting around the world. Mann called this attitude a "grave insult and insensitivity" to the people and claimed Modi’s foreign policy delivered "no results." Want more spice? On the hot issue of "vote chori" (vote theft), Mann questioned BJP’s push for "one nation, one election." "Why don’t they hold elections simultaneously in Maharashtra and Haryana?" he asked skeptically, adding, "A voter in Haryana will have their vote elsewhere." He called this "even more serious than EVM hacking," saying the government is creating its own digital voters — a "digital janta." Mann highlighted a big claim that the vote of Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh's wife was deleted, revealing a murky tale of electoral fraud. Standing firmly with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on this, Mann said, "We must address these issues; only then can democracy be preserved. Otherwise, what democracy are we discussing?" The Punjab CM also aired concerns about India's shaky relations with neighbors. "Which country supported us during Operation Sindoor? Can you name one?" he challenged, pointing fingers at Modi’s globe-trotting. Mann shared worries from Indians abroad, noting anti-immigration protests rocking Canada, the UK, and Australia. He told a touching story about Harjit Kaur, a 73-year-old Sikh woman deported from the US after living there for over 30 years, without even a chance to say goodbye to her family. "Is anybody speaking?" Mann questioned, blasting Modi's ties with the US, especially after Trump raised tariffs and backed Pakistan. In the heat of a special Punjab Assembly session, Bhagwant Mann added a powerful new chapter to the flood relief saga and Indian politics. The Rangla Punjab fund is now the crowd’s darling, and Mann's fiery words are echoing from Punjab all the way to Delhi. Get ready, India! The flood of action has just begun.
