The Shivamogga Lokayukta police arrested a medical officer in Shikaripur while accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 to give the post-mortem report of a deceased. The officer, Gopal G. Harigi, working at the Shikaripur government hospital, was caught in a trap set by the police inspector and his team following a complaint. The family of the deceased, Sathish Manchi, refused to pay the bribe, leading to the complaint by a family associate. The Lokayukta police arrested him while receiving ₹10,000 at his office.
