AIIMS Mangalagiri Celebrates World Hospice Day with New Outreach Vehicle and Caregiver Guidebook Launch

October 16, 2025

Brightening the path of care, AIIMS Mangalagiri celebrated World Hospice and Palliative Care Day on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, with big steps! They proudly introduced a new outreach vehicle aimed at reaching patients beyond hospital walls. This special ride, gifted under the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative by GVS Projects Private Limited, Vijayawada, promises to bring care closer to those who need it most. The institute didn’t stop there—public health education stalls popped up in the OPD area. Here, visitors learned about vital topics like palliative nursing, physiotherapy, dietary support, and a wide range of holistic care services. These stalls are all about spreading awareness and hope, making sure patients and their families know all about the care available. AIIMS Mangalagiri isn’t new to this compassionate journey. The Palliative Care Unit of their Department of Anesthesiology continues to serve over 300 patients suffering from chronic and advanced illnesses. These patients receive constant support—not just medical, but also nursing care and emotional comfort through outpatient, inpatient, and even home-based services across the region. The Executive Director, Ahanthem Santa Singh, emphasized the importance of this mission by launching the outreach vehicle under this year's theme: 'Achieving the Promise: Universal Access to Palliative Care.' AIIMS Mangalagiri is truly walking the talk by making palliative care available to many who need it, lighting hope where it is most needed. Adding another gem to their care toolkit, the institute unveiled the cover page of the brand new ‘Caregiver Guidebook.’ This guide will surely become a trusted companion for those who help care for patients, giving them the knowledge and strength to provide better support. World Hospice and Palliative Care Day 2025 at AIIMS Mangalagiri was a day full of care, hope, and lively action—showing how love and dedicated service can change lives, one patient at a time.
