In a touching and heart-wrenching ceremony, the last rites of Army Major T.S.T. Bharadwaj were held on October 15, 2025, in Guntur. Major Bharadwaj lost his life during a combat training exercise at a military base in Rajasthan on October 14. He hailed from the Sangadigunta area of Guntur, stirring deep emotions among his hometown folks. The funeral was a grand occasion marked by full military honours, reflecting the great respect India holds for its brave soldiers. Many important figures gathered to pay their respects. District Collector A. Thameem Ansariya, MLAs Mohammad Naseer and Galla Madhavi, along with Municipal Commissioner Puli Srinivasulu, were present to honor the Major's sacrifice and comfort his grieving family. Earlier that day, Guntur Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal led a dedicated police team to congratulate the Major with a solemn tribute. The SP praised the Major’s courage and discipline, saying, "Major Bharadwaj’s sacrifice in the service of the nation will remain etched in our memory forever." He also sent his deepest sympathies to Major Bharadwaj's father, Upendra Kumar, and the family. The presence of police, municipal leaders, MLAs, and public representatives showed the city's united spirit. The entire event was filled with emotion and gratitude, a true salute to a hero who gave his all for the country. Guntur’s farewell to Major Bharadwaj will be remembered as a powerful tribute to his bravery and dedication.
