PM Modi's Mega Visit to Andhra Pradesh: Rs 13,430 Crore Projects, GST Event & More!

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to light up Andhra Pradesh on Thursday with a grand visit packed with exciting events and big launches. Brace yourself for a whopping Rs 13,430 crore worth of projects covering vital areas such as industry, power transmission, roads, railways, defence manufacturing, and petroleum and natural gas. "I will pray at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam," Modi announced on X, India's popular microblogging site, on Wednesday. "After that, I will be in Kurnool, where development projects worth over Rs 13,400 crores would be inaugurated or their foundation stones would be laid. These works cover sectors like power, railways, petroleum, defence, industries and more," he added. The schedule begins with Modi's arrival at Kurnool Airport at around 10 am, warmly welcomed by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Modi will then visit the famous Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam temple in Srisailam for prayers and darshan, followed by a stop at the Sree Shivaji Spoorthi Kendra. Next comes the big reveal of multiple infrastructure projects. PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for a huge Transmission System Strengthening project at Kurnool-III Pooling Station worth over Rs 2,880 crore. This includes building a massive 765 KV double-circuit transmission line that ramps up the capacity by 6,000 MVA, boosting renewable energy flow. Industrial growth also gets a turbo-boost with foundation stones for Orvakal Industrial Area in Kurnool and Kopparthy Industrial Area in Kadapa, jointly developed by NICDIT and Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Ltd. With a combined investment topping Rs 4,920 crore, these smart industrial hubs aim to attract Rs 21,000 crore and generate about one lakh jobs — a big win for the Rayalaseema region! Road users, get ready! Modi will lay the foundation for a six-lane greenfield highway from Sabbavaram to Sheelanagar costing over Rs 960 crore to ease traffic in Visakhapatnam. He will also inaugurate four-laning of several key roads and rail over bridges, including vital stretches on NH-165, NH-565, and NH-544DD. Railway fans will celebrate too, as Modi inaugurates doubling and flyover projects worth Rs 1,200 crore, improving the Kothavalasa-Vizianagaram and Shimiliguda-Gorapur sections, plus the Rail Flyover between Pendurti and Simhachalam North. Energy buffs have reasons to cheer as Modi launches the Srikakulam-Angul Natural Gas Pipeline built by GAIL valued at Rs 1,730 crore, spanning Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. Indian Oil's Rs 200 crore LPG bottling plant in Chittoor and Bharat Electronics’ Rs 360 crore Advanced Night Vision Products Factory at Nimmaluru will also see their grand openings. Chief Minister Naidu has expressed excitement over the "Super GST - Super Savings" event planned in Kurnool, which celebrates GST reforms cutting taxes on daily essentials. Naidu tweeted, "The upcoming Super GST Super Savings event in Kurnool will celebrate the people's enthusiasm and appreciation for this forward-looking initiative, and I had the privilege of inviting him (PM Modi) to grace this event with his presence." The visit also includes unveiling the foundation for 'Drone City' near Srisailam, reflecting a futuristic touch. After a full day of inspiring inaugurations and foundation ceremonies, PM Modi will depart from Kurnool Airport around 4.40 pm amid tight security arrangements.
