Get ready for a feverish Dhanteras sale like never before! Leading the charge, Maruti Suzuki India expects to hit a stunning record by selling over 50,000 cars during the festival period. The celebrations are stretched over two days this year – Saturday and Sunday – causing a unique sales pattern. Maruti’s Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Partho Banerjee, spilled the beans to reporters, "This is going to be the all-time high deliveries, which we have done during the period of any time. Moreover, we are expecting that there will be another 10,000 customers who have hesitated to take the delivery today, due to Saturday, they will be taking the delivery tomorrow. We are expecting to cross even the 50,000 mark." Even the production team is working on holidays to meet this dazzling demand. Last year’s Dhanteras saw Maruti Suzuki deliver around 41,500 units, but this year the magic of "GST 2.0" is pulling customers in droves. Banerjee said, "Due to the GST 2.0 magic many of the customers are flocking to the showrooms," and warned that delays could happen if bookings and deliveries aren't managed quickly. Hyundai Motor India is also feeling the festive cheer. MD & CEO Designate Tarun Garg shared, "We are witnessing strong customer demand, with deliveries expected to be around 14,000 units approximately, 20 per cent higher than last year." He credited the upbeat market mood and GST 2.0 reforms for this growth. Like Maruti, Hyundai’s Dhanteras deliveries stretch over multiple days due to the Saturday effect. Looking back over the whole festive season starting from Navratri, Maruti Suzuki reports sizzling numbers with about 14,000 bookings daily. Since their price cut on September 18, almost 4.5 lakh bookings have poured in, with small car orders nearing one lakh and total small car deliveries close to 94,000. Retail sales in the last month reached a sparkling 3.25 lakh units. The festival boom isn’t stopping at cars. Consumer electronics are flying off shelves too. Panasonic Life Solutions’ Director and Head of Sales, Sandeep Sehgal, said, "This Dhanteras, we are witnessing a strong customer turnout since morning, with robust demand across product categories." Especially hot are large screen TVs (55 inches and above), boosting 4K TV sales by over 36% in early October. Both TVs and room air conditioners (RACs) are poised for a 30% jump over last year’s Dhanteras. Tanishq’s Senior Vice President Arun added, "We are seeing a healthy mix of purchases - from investment-driven buys above Rs 2 lakh to high demand for lightweight jewellery and gold coins around Dhanteras." The festive vibe is glowing equally in metros and smaller towns. Haier Appliances India also joined the celebration party, reporting "good sell-out" on premium goods like large TVs, side-by-side refrigerators, and front-load washing machines. Haier India President N S Satish expects "growth of more than 50 per cent," thanks to GST duty cuts on air-conditioners, bigger TVs, dishwashers, and daily essentials, putting more money in customers’ pockets. All signs show that this Dhanteras, the market is buzzing louder than ever. Will your wallet survive the festival frenzy?
