Hold on tight, because this Saturday, America is set to witness a fiery wave of anger with more than 2,500 “No Kings” protests erupting nationwide, blasting President Donald Trump’s administration. These rallies, sponsored by powerful groups like the American Civil Liberties Union and MoveOn, will stretch across all 50 states, showing just how big this political showdown has become. President Trump fired back strongly, telling Fox Business in a clip released Friday, “They're referring to me as a king. I'm not a king.” However, he proudly claimed that the government shutdown actually gave him the power to slash federal programs he said Democrats cared about. Trump boasted, “They made one mistake, they didn't realize that. That gives me the right to cut programs that Republicans never wanted. We're doing that, and we're cutting them permanently.” But here’s the twist: According to Article I of the Constitution, only Congress — not the president — has the power to decide government spending, making Trump’s claim all the more controversial. The protests have rattled Republicans, who slammed them as “Hate America” rallies, blaming Democrats for stirring trouble. On the flip side, Democrats are cheering the demonstrations. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries celebrated the protests by saying, “Showing up to express dissent against an out-of-control administration, that’s as American as motherhood, baseball and apple pie.” Trump’s style has stirred even more drama. He once said he’d be a “dictator” only on “day one” if reelected but now denies any such behavior, even after sending National Guard troops without local approval. “I don’t like a dictator. I’m not a dictator. I’m a man with great common sense — a smart person,” Trump said. Adding fuel to the fire, the White House’s official X account faced harsh criticism after posting a fake Time magazine cover showing Trump wearing a crown with the bold line, “LONG LIVE THE KING!” The timing is no coincidence. These “No Kings” protests follow intense marches in June that clashed with the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary parade — which was also Trump’s 79th birthday. The protests come amid a government shutdown and troop deployments nationwide, making the atmosphere electric. So get ready! Across small towns and big cities, millions of voices will rise this weekend challenging Trump’s rule with roaring chants of “No Kings!” It’s a political storm that’s turning America into a giant stage for democracy’s loudest voices.
