Rajnath Singh Flags Off First BrahMos Missiles from UP, Declares 'Every Inch of Pakistan Within Reach!'

October 19, 2025

In a fiery event in Lucknow, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh declared, “every inch of Pakistan’s territory is now within the reach of BrahMos,” as he launched the first batch of BrahMos missiles built in Uttar Pradesh’s Defence Industrial Corridor. Alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Singh proudly flagged off these powerful weapons, made at the new BrahMos Aerospace unit in Lucknow. This state-of-the-art facility, spread over 200 acres and costing ₹380 crore, is not just a factory but a game changer. It plans to produce around 100 missile systems each year, expecting a massive turnover of ₹3,000 crore and contributing ₹500 crore in GST from next year. Singh explained with a sparkle, “Each system not only protects the nation but also bolsters the economy,” adding that taxes from making just one missile could help fund schools, hospitals, and public welfare. The event celebrated a big milestone in India’s dream of being self-reliant in defence production. The Bharat-made BrahMos missiles came out of the Lucknow Integration and Testing Facility Centre just five months after it was virtually inaugurated in May. Calling BrahMos “not just a missile, but a symbol of the growing indigenous capabilities of the nation,” Singh praised its deadly speed, sharp precision, and mighty power. He called it “the backbone of our Armed Forces.” The Defence Minister also referenced the recent Operation Sindoor, where BrahMos played a key role. “Operation Sindoor is proof that victory has become our habit. The operation was just a trailer. It has made Pakistan realise what might follow,” he said boldly. Singh stressed the need to grow homegrown tech to keep India’s defence supply chain strong. “Be it advanced seekers or ramjet engines, we must develop all types of technologies indigenously so that our supply chain remains within India,” he said. Acknowledging challenges with foreign defence parts, he said India must empower small and medium industries to avoid relying on other countries. “If a country refuses to supply a spare part, our system should not halt. That’s why small industries must be empowered and integrated into the defence ecosystem,” Singh explained. He praised the progress of the UP Defence Industrial Corridor, calling Lucknow set to become a global centre for defence technology and innovation. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath agreed wholeheartedly, calling BrahMos “a missile of Aatmanirbharta” and praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rajnath Singh for making UP a key player in national security. He noted the corridor has already given jobs to over 15,000 youth across six locations. The event also saw the opening of the Booster Building and thrilling live demos like booster docking and displays of mobile autonomous launchers. As a cherry on top, Rajnath Singh dedicated a Titanium and Superalloy Materials Plant at PTC Industries’ Strategic Materials Technology Complex in Lucknow. This new private-sector plant is one of the first to produce aero-engine and superalloy components in India, helping the nation make rare, vital materials. This spectacular day on October 18, 2025, showcased how India is gearing up with homegrown power and pride in defence, protecting the nation and fueling growth with every missile launched.
