Bihar, a state known for its political drama, is ready to light up again with Assembly elections set for November 6 and 11 in two exciting phases. All eyes are on 243 constituencies where the battle between the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the opposition Mahagathbandhan promises to be fierce, especially as no major alliance has announced a chief minister candidate yet. The election results will be out on November 14. This time, there’s a spicy twist in the seat sharing! The Janata Dal (United) or JD(U) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will each fight on 101 seats. This is the first time since 2005 that these two allies will go head-to-head on an equal number of seats, shaking up the usual game. Other NDA partners like Chirag Paswan’s Lok Janshakti Party (LJP-RV) will contest 29 seats, while Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) and former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi’s Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) will each get six seats. The 2020 elections told a different story — JD(U) had 115 seats, BJP 110, HAM(S) seven, and Mukesh Sahani’s Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) contested 11 seats under NDA. On the other hand, Chirag Paswan’s party went it alone by standing in 135 seats. Now, the equal split between JD(U) and BJP signals a new era of partnership and power-sharing. The big question on everyone’s mind: Will this parity turn the political tide in favor of NDA or give the Mahagathbandhan a chance to rise? With the campaign heating up and leaders like Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar already seen sharing lighter moments in public, the political stage is set for a thrilling fight. Stay tuned as Bihar’s destiny unfolds, promising plenty of excitement, power moves, and masaledar politics!
