RAIPUR: The Chhattisgarh Karamchari Adhikari Federation (CKAF) has made a strong request to the state government. They want a special budget just for dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR) for State employees, pensioners, and All-India Service officers. Why? Because Bihar already does this and pays DA on time without delays! Kamal Verma, the Federation state convenor, wrote straight to the Chief Minister and Finance Minister. He highlighted that "The Bihar government promptly provides DA to its employees and pensioners at the same rate approved by the Central government." How is Bihar able to do this? "This is made possible through a dedicated budget allocation under the Establishment and Committed Expenditure Head in Bihar’s annual budget," said Verma. Right now, Bihar has even asked all departments to prepare their budget plans early for the year 2026–27. This helps ensure enough money is set aside for DA without any last-minute trouble. CKAF believes if Chhattisgarh copies this smart move, it will be great news for employees and pensioners. It would mean no more waiting for approvals or having to protest loudly to get rightful payments. As they say, timely payment = happy employees! The Federation has made a clear plea: The state should include a separate budget provision for DA in the main budget for 2026–27, just like Bihar’s system. They said this step will benefit everyone and bring peace to the hardworking staff. So, will Chhattisgarh government take this sage advice and make life easier for its workforce? Everyone’s waiting with bated breath!
