Beloved 9-1-1 Nashville Star Isabelle Tate Passes Away at 23 Battling Neuromuscular Disease

October 25, 2025

The shining young light of 9-1-1 Nashville, actress Isabelle Tate, sadly passed away on October 19, 2025, at just 23 years old. Born and raised in Nashville’s Franklin community, Isabelle lived a vibrant life despite her tough health battle. She is lovingly remembered by her mother Katerina Kazakos Tate, stepfather Vishnu Jayamohan, father John Daniel Tate, and sister Daniella Tate. Isabelle recently appeared in the series premiere of 9-1-1: Nashville, dazzling fans with her talent. But beyond acting, she was "full of fire, a fighter, never once making excuses for the fact that she might have a disability relative to others," her obituary declared. Music was her heart’s language too—she spent hours crafting and recording songs with friends, even publishing a few. More than anything, Isabelle treasured her time with family and friends. Her obituary evokes a warm picture: "What she loved the most though was spending time with family and friends, always the life of the party. Her sister was her best friend and her mom was her shining beacon of light." Isabelle’s journey was made even harder by a progressive neuromuscular disease she revealed in 2022. Diagnosed at just 13, this condition slowly weakened her leg muscles, leading her to use a wheelchair. She explained on Instagram that accepting help and the disease's relentless progression was "extremely hard." In her heartfelt post, Isabelle shared, "While I was trying to come to terms with this, I really did find that I lost myself in certain ways. I hated that it was not only breaking me down physically, but I was allowing it to also break down my spirit." Despite the heavy challenge, she chose hope and courage, saying, "I would’ve never expected something like this to happen to me, as most of us wouldn’t. I don’t know why these were the cards I was dealt in life, but I can’t change it so I’m choosing to embrace it and not let it define me." What exactly are neuromuscular diseases? According to Mayo Clinic, these diseases affect how muscles work because of problems with nerves and muscles themselves. Common signs include muscle weakness, twitching, cramps, aches, loss of muscle, balance issues, and difficulty swallowing or breathing. Isabelle Tate’s story is one of fierce spirit, creative soul, and deep love. While her passing leaves a great void, her life continues to inspire those facing tough battles.
