In a super smart move to make life easier for businesses in India, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has bundled 31 separate Customs Duty notifications into one powerful, easy-to-use document! The brand-new Notification No. 45/2025, dated October 24, 2025, will kick in from November 1, 2025. Why the excitement? Because this one notification holds all the existing duty benefits and exemptions from those 31 old notifications — but now everything is neatly packed in a single, clear format. Imagine the old days when importers and customs officers had to jump through hoops and pages of confusing notifications just to check which duty exemptions applied. That’s about to become history! From November 1 onwards, all importers, exporters, and customs brokers will simply refer to Notification No. 45/2025-Customs. No more hunting through multiple documents — just one reliable source for all exemptions and duty reliefs. This consolidation is not just about tidying up paperwork; it marks a big win for the government’s mission to promote Ease of Doing Business in India. The new notification neatly merges all important exemptions and rules, removing repeat information but keeping every benefit intact. This means anyone dealing with customs can now find accurate rules quickly and clearly, making customs work much smoother and consistent. Behind the scenes, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) is working hard as the Nodal Department to coordinate these improvements. They team up with multiple ministries, departments, and states to cut down the burden of compliance on businesses and citizens. The goal? To make business and daily life easier by simplifying, rationalizing, digitizing, and decriminalizing government services everywhere. So, what’s the bottom line? From November 1, 2025, dealing with customs duties just got a whole lot simpler and smarter, thanks to CBIC’s Notification No. 45/2025. For all importers and exporters, it’s time to embrace this welcome change and wave goodbye to paperwork chaos!
