Big news for flyers in Delhi! The famous Indira Gandhi International Airport’s Terminal 2 (T2) has reopened with a sparkling new look and fresh features. On Saturday, Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu officially inaugurated the renovated T2, and from Sunday, it started buzzing with flights again. T2 is no newbie – it was built by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) 40 years ago. But it had to close in April for major upgrades. Now, the terminal can handle up to 15 million passengers every year with a smooth, passenger-friendly vibe. IGIA, the nation’s biggest airport, has three busy terminals – T1, T2, and T3 – and four runways. It handles a whopping 1,300 flights a day! Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL), shared at the opening event that the whole airport can handle over 100 million passengers annually. Here’s the flight update you need: All domestic flights with flight numbers starting from 1000 to 1999 (mostly Air India and IndiGo) will now take off from the revamped T2. Meanwhile, domestic Air India Express flights switch over to Terminal 1, and all international flights keep flying from T3. Air India warns passengers, “Please keep your contact details updated and always check your flight or terminal info via our website, app, or 24x7 help center.” IndiGo adds, “From October 26, all IndiGo flights numbered 2000 to 2999 that used T1 will move to T2. There might be some flight schedule changes during this switch, so please double-check your details before heading to the airport.” The upgrade to T2 is no ordinary facelift. Passengers will enjoy handy self baggage-drop counters that speed up luggage check-ins. Plus, six shiny new boarding bridges make boarding and deboarding super smooth. To stay informed, there’s a new high-resolution display system flashing live flight info with better accuracy. And there’s thoughtful touch too! Special signs make navigation easy, especially for people with reduced mobility. This means T2 is not just bigger and better but friendlier for everyone. So pack your bags, Delhi flyers! With T2 ready to rock, your airport journey just got cooler, faster, and fuss-free. But remember, check your flight number and terminal before you zoom off!
