Tilak Varma, the 22-year-old cricket sensation behind India’s Asia Cup win, shared a thrilling story of survival and spirit. Last year, Tilak faced a frightening health problem called rhabdomyolysis. This rare condition happens when muscles break down too fast. "I was praying to God to keep me alive & let me play again," said Tilak in a candid interview. After his first season in the IPL, Tilak’s body started showing signs of trouble. "I wasn’t giving my body enough time to recover. I was pushing myself even on rest days. The muscles got overstrained and eventually broke down," he revealed. During an A series in Bangladesh, things got worse. He struggled so much his "eyes started tearing up, my fingers weren’t moving properly." The pain forced him to retire hurt, and the injury was so severe his gloves had to be cut off! The situation became critical, and Tilak was rushed to hospital. Thanks to support from Akash Ambani and quick action by the BCCI, he received prompt treatment. Doctors warned that a small delay could have caused disaster. The brave cricketer said, "I was praying to God to keep me alive and let me play again." What does rhabdomyolysis mean? It is when your strong muscles, the ones that help you run and play, get cracked due to being used too much and too fast. Usually, broken muscle parts leave your body safely through kidneys. But with too much muscle damage, kidneys can get overwhelmed, leading to dangerous health problems.
