It was a day full of thrills and spills at the Mexico City Grand Prix on Sunday, October 26, 2025. Lando Norris put on a show, racing from the pole position all the way to a lights-to-flag victory! This dazzling win helped him leapfrog his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri in the Drivers' Championship by a razor-thin margin of one point. Norris now holds 357 points, Piastri follows close at 356, and Max Verstappen trails at 321. Starting strong, Norris avoided any early chaos and controlled the race with calm precision. "Norris, the McLaren driver, becomes the new Drivers’ Championship leader by just one point after sealing the win ahead of Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen in an action-packed race," reported sources. It was a gripping battle packed with speed and strategy. Australian Oscar Piastri, who had started the race in seventh with a 14-point lead over Norris, fought hard but finished fifth. A late virtual safety car stopped him from overtaking to fourth, ending his hopes of holding onto the championship lead. Ferrari's Charles Leclerc finished as the runner-up, trailing Norris by 30.3 seconds, while Red Bull's Max Verstappen nipped the third spot after an intense last lap chase, just 0.7 seconds behind Leclerc. Meanwhile, young British driver Oliver Bearman grabbed an amazing fourth place for Haas, marking his career-best finish, just 1.1 seconds ahead of Piastri. The race had its share of drama. Lewis Hamilton, who started third, got hit with a 10-second penalty after a tussle with Verstappen on lap six, dropping him to eighth place. Mercedes drivers Kimi Antonelli and George Russell finished sixth and seventh respectively, with Esteban Ocon of Haas coming ninth and Sauber’s Gabriel Bortoleto snatching the final point. The constructors' championship also heated up, with Ferrari reclaiming second place, just a point ahead of Mercedes, although McLaren had already secured the title. From the start, Norris made a clean getaway but faced a tight four-car fight approaching the first turn. Verstappen cut the corner, grazing the grass, and clashed with Hamilton, who went off track too. The incident brought the penalty for Hamilton but no further punishment. Bearman’s fearless climb from ninth to fourth lit up the race, and with Hamilton's penalty, he even touched the podium places later on. Norris, basking in the sunshine, steadily pulled away from Leclerc, finally taking a comfortable win as former heavyweight champ Evander Holyfield waved the chequered flag. This race was a rollercoaster of edge-of-the-seat moments and bold moves. Can Lando Norris keep this fiery streak alive? The fight for the Formula One crown just got even hotter!
