Digital payments in India have become as common as chai and samosas! Among them, UPI stands tall as the fastest and easiest way to send money, pay bills, and shop online. But what if you accidentally send money to the wrong person? Oh no! That can cause serious headaches. Luckily, the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has a golden solution. They offer a 24/7 helpline and an online complaint system where you can report wrong transfers and other UPI troubles quickly. Here’s the hot gossip: If you spot a wrong UPI transaction, dial NPCI’s complaint number 1800-120-1740 within 48 hours. Yes, the clock is ticking! The helpline never sleeps, ready to help day or night. After you register your complaint, expect a resolution in 3 to 5 working days. Providing complete and correct details will make the fix breezier. Not a phone person? No worries! NPCI’s website allows you to file complaints online. Just visit the official NPCI site, find the ‘What we do’ section, click on 'UPI,' then choose 'Dispute Redressal Mechanism.' Pick ‘Transaction’ under complaints, select “Incorrectly transferred to another account,” and fill in your details like transaction ID, bank name, amount, date, and email. Submit and relax! What about failed UPI payments? They can be equally frustrating when money leaves your account, but payment does not go through. NPCI’s online system is ready to help you here too. Follow the similar steps and select “Transaction failed but amount debited” to report the issue. Wondering what else you can complain about? Here’s the list shining bright: PIN issues like blocked or forgotten PINs; processing problems such as amounts debited without success or money sent to wrong accounts; account glitches like trouble linking bank accounts; and other tech troubles such as login failures or OTP errors. Tracking your complaint is a breeze! Visit NPCI’s complaint page, click ‘Check complaint status,’ enter product type (UPI), bank details, your Complaint Registration Number (CRN), and the captcha code. Then hit ‘Get Status’ to see your complaint’s progress. So, next time payments go haywire, NPCI’s 24/7 helpline and digital complaint system will be your superhero, saving the day fast and stress-free. Digital money mishaps won’t stand a chance now!
