DGCA Launches Exciting Internship Program for Aviation Students and Young Professionals

NEW DELHI: In a thrilling first for India's aviation world, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has rolled out a sparkling new internship program! Designed especially for students and young pros, this initiative is your golden ticket to peek inside the inner workings of India's civil aviation regulator. Who can jump in? If you're in your final or pre-final year of B Tech or BE in aerospace, civil, computer science, or electronics engineering, or doing MCA, M.Sc. in data science to software development, you’re invited! It doesn't stop there—students of BA or MA in economics or public policy, BA/MBA specialising in aviation or transport, B Com, M Com, CA, ICWA for finance roles, and even LLB or LLM for legal and policy internships are welcome. Research scholars too can apply! But hold on to your hats! You need at least 70% marks in graduation or 60% in post-graduation. Age limit? Not more than 24 years for undergrads and 27 for postgrads, as of December 31 of the year before the internship. Guess what? This exciting internship comes with a stipend of Rs 5,000 per month, for up to three months. Students will get to unravel the mysteries of policy making, dive into regulatory frameworks, and understand what keeps our skies safe and airports running smooth, said a senior official. The DGCA shared, "This initiative not only enriches the educational experience of participants but also empowers the authority to tap into innovative ideas and analytical insights from the next generation of aviation experts. Through hands-on experience and guided interaction with seasoned professionals. Interns will contribute fresh perspectives that can enhance the regulatory landscape." This vibrant internship program covers all the buzz areas critical to the aviation industry's growth and smooth functioning. These include airfare monitoring and tariff analysis; regulatory impact assessment; airport infrastructure and aerodrome standards; air safety, licensing and surveillance systems; environmental regulation and sustainability; air navigation services and emerging technologies; and legal and policy research in aviation.
