Patna witnessed a fiery political clash on Saturday when Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar launched a strong attack on the NDA government ruling Bihar. He accused the rulers of failing to control crime, including murder, rape, and corruption, painting a grim picture of law and order in the state. Kanhaiya asked sharp questions: “They claim good governance, but the data shows an increase in all kinds of crime. We have seen people going back after Chhath, which reflects migration. Is it good governance then?” He highlighted official data from the CAG that showed the government has not submitted a utility certificate for a whopping Rs73,000 crore of expenses. “What is good governance then? Has its meaning changed now?” he challenged. Taking a jab at PM Narendra Modi, Kanhaiya said, “Development in Bihar is being promised only if the state has an NDA chief minister. Is Nitish Kumar not the CM of the NDA? Remember, if you are a supporter of Nitish, the BJP is not going to make him the CM. Nitish’s fate will be like that of Eknath Shinde.” The warning suggested that Nitish Kumar's future as CM might be shaky despite his ties with the NDA. On the topic of election promises, Kanhaiya stood firm defending the Grand Alliance’s pledge to provide one government job per family. Responding to NDA’s criticism about the funding source, he said, “From the same place from where Rs8,200 crore was spent on the PM’s aircraft, and from the same place from where legislators are paid and their wives receive pensions. Where there is a will, there is a way.” He reminded voters that “if we fail to deliver, then the public can remove us in five years. No one forms the govt with lifetime recharge.” Kanhaiya did not hold back in criticizing the PM directly, demanding answers for “hollow promises” like creating two crore jobs. “Even now, he is just showering jumlas in Bihar. For 20 years they have been in power, but what have they given? Roads with tolls and bridges that collapse. Even the syllabus of Bihar universities has not been revised for ages,” he thundered. This political showdown comes as Bihar prepares for crucial elections, with Kanhaiya Kumar shaking things up by exposing cracks in governance and issuing stern warnings to both the NDA and its top leaders. The drama is thick, the stakes are high, and Bihar’s future hangs in the balance!
