Chagalamarri Police apprehended five members of a cricket betting gang involved in placing bets on ongoing IPL matches. Acting on specific information, the police raided an open area near a flyover and caught the individuals red-handed. The arrested individuals, all residents of Chagalamarri town, were identified as Byreddy Maddileti Reddy, Khaji Mohammed Rafi, Chakali Harikrishna, Bugga Baba Fakruddin, and Shaik Sharif. The police confiscated ₹2.06 lakh in cash from them during the raid. A case has been filed against the accused under the AP Gaming Act.
