NAAC Slaps Show-Cause Notice on Al-Falah University Over Fake Accreditation Claims During Red Fort Blast Drama
November 13, 2025
Hold onto your seats! The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) just served a sizzling show-cause notice to Al-Falah University in Faridabad. Why? Because the university is showing off false accreditation info on its website — that's a big no-no! NAAC clarified, "Al-Falah University is neither accredited nor has volunteered for Cycle-1 for Assessment and Accreditation (A&A)." Yet, the university boldly claimed on its site that it runs colleges graded A by NAAC. NAAC called this “absolutely wrong and misleading the public, especially the parents, students, and stakeholders.”
But wait, there's more spice! Al-Falah University is already in hot water due to the Red Fort blast investigation. Dr Umar Nabi, who drove the car that exploded near Red Fort killing 13 people, worked as an assistant professor at the university. Toss in Dr Muzammil, another doctor linked to the university, whose rented spaces held a whopping 2,900 kg of explosives and inflammable materials!
The university, located near Delhi in Dhauj, runs under the Al-Falah Charitable Trust, hosting a medical college and hospital as well. With police camping outside and questioning staff, tensions are sky-high. Vice-Chancellor Dr Bhupinder Kaur Anand expressed deep sadness but tried to keep distance, saying, "We wish to make it clear that the university has no connection with the said persons apart from them being working in their official capacities with the university." She added that the university is fully cooperating with authorities.
This mess has sent shockwaves through parents and students who were promised NAAC-approved education. Now, they face uncertainty while intense investigations continue. What started as a blaze of hope at Al-Falah University has turned into blazing headlines for all the wrong reasons!
