9mm Cartridges Found at Red Fort Blast Site! Delhi Police Probes Link to Terror Network
November 17, 2025
In a jaw-dropping twist in the Red Fort car blast case, Delhi Police revealed on Sunday that three cartridges found at the blast site—two live and one empty—are all 9mm calibre bullets. These bullets are not ordinary; they are “a firearm type prohibited for civilian possession,” police said. A senior police officer confirmed, "These cartridges are usually only possessed by the armed forces or those with special permission." But here is the mystery – despite finding the cartridges, "no pistol or any of its parts were found at the scene." So where is the gun that fired these shots?
Officials are scratching their heads, trying to figure out how these bullets ended up there and whether the suspect had them. This discovery opens a new thrilling chapter in the ongoing probe, as agencies hunt for the ammo source and possible terror or crime network ties. Security teams have been combing through CCTV footage and forensic clues from the blast area.
Remember, the blast near the historic Red Fort on November 10 shocked the nation—it killed 12 people and injured many others. Just a day before, Delhi Police had filed a new First Information Report (FIR) adding fresh charges of criminal conspiracy.
Meanwhile, security is tighter than ever around Red Fort. Every entry point and surrounding area is under watch, leaving no chance for trouble.
In another twist, the National Medical Commission (NMC) slammed the brakes on four Jammu & Kashmir doctors by canceling their registrations immediately. These include Dr Muzaffar Ahmad, Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, Dr Muzamil Shakeel, and Dr Shaheen Saeed. All State Medical Councils have been notified, with the order lasting until November 14, 2025.
Three of these doctors—Dr Adeel Ahmad Rather, Dr Muzamil Shakeel, and Dr Shaheen Saeed—are already behind bars, accused of links to terror cases.
Investigators recently dropped a bombshell: about eight suspects plotted coordinated blasts in four cities, teaming up in pairs, each carrying several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) for a simultaneous strike.
Delhi Police confirmed the man behind the Red Fort car blast is Dr Umar Un Nabi. This shocking fact came after forensic DNA tests matched his sample with that of his mother. However, Al-Falah University distanced itself from Dr Umar and Dr Muzammil, saying the university has no connection beyond their jobs. They also declared no suspicious chemicals or materials exist on campus.
Important DNA, explosive, and other evidence has been collected and sent for deep forensic analysis. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is now leading the intense investigation.
Meanwhile, tragedy struck again late Friday night at the Nowgam Police Station, where an accidental explosion killed nine personnel and injured 32 others, causing serious damage to nearby buildings. This shocking incident adds more urgency to the already tense security climate.
Stay tuned, because this thrilling story is far from over!
