Logitech Shaken by Data Breach Drama But Says Customer Data Safe!
November 20, 2025
Hold on to your keyboards! Hardware giant Logitech has unveiled some spicy cyber news. Recently, hackers linked to the Russia-backed ransomware gang "CL0P" claimed they stole data from the company. But Logitech quickly fired back, assuring everyone that no sensitive or customer data was exposed in the hack. The company opened up about the cyber drama in a November 8 filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. According to Logitech, the breach was caused by a sneaky zero-day vulnerability in third-party software, which the hackers exploited to copy some internal data files. But don’t worry – Logitech says this incident has not affected their products, business operations, or manufacturing. "Logitech recently experienced a cybersecurity incident relating to the exfiltration of data," they stated. "The cybersecurity incident has not impacted Logitech’s products, business operations or manufacturing... Upon detecting the incident, Logitech promptly took steps to investigate and respond to the incident with the assistance of leading external cybersecurity firms." The gang behind this cyber heist, CL0P, is no stranger to trouble. They made headlines earlier this year when they stole data from Oracle’s E-Business Suite. Now, they've flashed threats to release Logitech’s stolen data unless their ransom demands are met. In a bold statement, the hackers even slammed Logitech by saying, "The company doesn't care about its customers, it ignored their security!!!" According to cybersecurity news outlet Bleeping Computer, the stolen files might include some information about employees, customers, and suppliers, but crucially, no sensitive info like national ID numbers or credit card details were leaked. Why? Because such highly confidential data wasn’t stored on the hacked systems. The good news? Once the zero-day flaw was discovered, patches were rolled out swiftly to close the cyber gap. Nevertheless, CL0P has placed Logitech’s data on their infamous leak site, releasing a whopping 1.8TB of files claimed to be from the company. While Logitech hasn’t revealed the affected third-party vendor’s name, experts believe this all ties back to that Oracle zero-day bug CL0P used in multiple cyber thefts last July. So, while this data breach story is ticking with tension, Logitech assures all is under control – no customer secrets spilled, and strong cyber defense actions underway. Cyber battles continue, and the tech world watches closely!
