HG Infra Engineering Limited, in a team-up with Kalpataru Projects International Ltd, has bagged the L-1 bid for a huge ₹1,415 crore Maharashtra Metro Rail project announced by Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL). This juicy contract means HG Infra will handle 40% of the work, while Kalpataru takes care of the remaining 60%. According to the official exchange filing, “H.G. Infra Engineering Limited (the 'Company' or 'HGINFRA'), jointly with Kalpataru Projects International Limited, has been declared as L-1 bidder by the Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited in a Joint Venture bidding.” The thrilling project involves designing and constructing an elevated metro viaduct stretching 20.527 kilometres from UG Ramp to Balkum Naka. It also includes a depot approach viaduct and three special spans for the Thane Integral Ring Metro Project. All work will be done under the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model. MMRCL values the whole project at about ₹1,424 crore, while the joint venture's winning bid clocks in at ₹1,415 crore. The duo has 36 months to complete this massive task. The project is part of Maharashtra’s ongoing metro expansion to boost local infrastructure. The company has confirmed that all formal paperwork and formalities will follow as per contract rules. Following the announcement, HG Infra's shares jumped a spicy 5.8% to hit Rs 914.30 on the BSE during early trading on Monday, November 24.
