A Delhi cardiologist is ringing alarm bells for city folks who love their comforts a bit too much! Dr. Shailesh Singh took to the social media platform X with some sharp and spicy advice that challenges the usual way urban Indians live. He boldly says comfort is secretly turning against us and harming our health.
Dr. Singh kicks off by comparing how people choose their homes versus how they choose their health. While buying a 2BHK flat, buyers fuss over views, parking spots, and lifts. But when it comes to their health, they ignore simple things like walking, climbing stairs, or just standing more. He calls this obsession with ease a recipe for turning a home into a “2BHK coffin,” warning that the house may last many decades, but the owner’s health might not.
Next, he busts the myth that healthy eating is expensive. He shared everyday prices: dal at 100 rupees per kilo, vegetables just 30, rice 50. These are cheaper than many junk foods! Dr. Singh’s sharp point — people don’t avoid healthy food because of cost, but because they pick pleasure over health, which costs them more in the long run.
Then, he uncovers a sneaky habit: why do people forward health tips on WhatsApp, save fitness videos, or bookmark diet plans, yet never start? According to him, this is just "procrastination with extra steps." He warns that with India’s nonstop festivals, there’s always a reason to delay changes. "The heart doesn’t care about the calendar," he says, "and neither should anyone hoping to protect it."
What’s the doctor’s golden advice? Simple! Keep your walking shoes right by your bed, not hidden away. That tiny touch first thing in the morning can stop excuses and start a life-saving habit. No need for fancy shoes, perfect weather, gyms, or big motivation—just stand, walk a hundred steps, come back, and repeat tomorrow. Dr. Singh calls this small act “permission to live” and urges people to start now, before their comfy lifestyle catches up and causes harm.
His message is loud and clear: urban India, stop chasing comfort at your health’s cost. A little movement, a little care, can lead to a longer, healthier life!
