Madanayakanahalli police have arrested a 28-year-old woman, Sharanamma, and her 20-year-old friend, Veerabhadra, for killing Sharanamma’s husband, Suresh, and trying to cover up the crime by burning his body. Suresh, aged 30, was married to Sharanamma for four years and worked in construction with the accused. On November 20, Suresh’s half-burnt body was found near Madanayakanahalli. There were no clear clues at the scene, and the body’s identity was initially unknown. However, CCTV footage from nearby showed a car moving toward the crime spot. After checking about 350 CCTV videos, police traced the car back to Suresh’s home. Sharanamma had also filed a missing complaint for Suresh on November 21, raising police suspicion. After detaining and questioning her, the truth came out. Police say Sharanamma was having an extramarital affair with Veerabhadra. They allegedly planned the murder together. On November 19, while Suresh was sleeping, the two assaulted him and then set him on fire at Madanayakanahalli. Police are now looking for others who may have helped in the crime.
