Realtor flashes fake police ID at toll plazas & temples, held

Bengaluru: A real estate businessman who created a fake identity card of a police inspector and flashed it to receive special concessions at toll plazas and temples, was arrested recently.The accused is P Anand, 36, a resident of HSR Layout. Anand fabricated an ID card, claiming to be a police inspector from city division, along with a department-issued ID number. Using this ID card, he avoided paying fees at toll plazas on the city's outskirts. Additionally, Anand used the fake card to gain special access at temples.Central Crime Branch sleuths obtained the photo of the fake ID card on WhatsApp and shared it with the VIP section in the police commissioner's office that issues cards. The VIP section confirmed the card was fraudulently created using the ID number of a constable from Sampangiramanagar police station in central division.Anand told police he got the card made at a photocopy shop, and cops are trying to locate the owner.
