Illegal Packaging of Drinking Water Uncovered in Noida Factories

May 29, 2025

In a recent crackdown, two factories in Greater Noida were discovered packaging drinking water illegally without the necessary license. The food department conducted raids based on a tip-off and confiscated 13,092 one-liter water bottles. The officials also collected samples for laboratory testing to assess the water quality. Assistant Commissioner of Food, Sarvesh Mishra, highlighted that the inspections were part of a summer campaign to guarantee safe drinking water. One of the factories, Gupta Enterprises, located at K-300, Site 5, Kasna industrial area, was found to be operating without a valid food license. They were packaging water in one-liter bottles under the name 'Bilseri', closely resembling a popular brand. Around 6,252 bottles were discovered at the facility, with one sample taken for testing and the rest sealed on-site. The other factory, Parametro Waser Technology, located at plot number 2/88 in the same area, was also found violating food safety regulations. A total of 6,856 one-liter bottles were seized, with one sample collected for analysis and the rest sealed by authorities. Operations at both plants have been suspended pending further legal actions. The incidents raise concerns about the need for stricter regulations and monitoring of bottled water companies to uphold consumer safety and prevent illicit practices.
