Mysuru Airport AAC Pushes for Fast Runway Expansion and Better Services

The Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) held a review meeting for Mysuru Airport development on November 28 at the Airport Community Hall. The meeting was chaired by Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, Mysuru MP and AAC chairman, and hosted by P.V. Usha Kumari, airport director and AAC convener. Attendees included Chamundeshwari MLA G.T. Deve Gowda and senior officials from Mysuru City Corporation, Police, Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation, South Western Railway, Irrigation Department, National Highways Authority of India, Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board, and other stakeholders.
P.V. Usha Kumari briefed the committee on recent initiatives to improve passenger services and strengthen airport infrastructure. The discussion focused on key issues like diversion of the national highway, shifting 66 kV power lines, and irrigation work linked to the proposed runway expansion.
Mr. Wadiyar and Mr. Gowda urged all departments to fast-track pending works to ensure timely completion of the runway expansion. AAC members also suggested ways to enhance passenger amenities and boost operational efficiency. The airport director promised that all feasible recommendations would be reviewed and implemented promptly.
