Rajasthan Government Employee Linked to Congress Politician Held for Spying for ISI

A state government employee in Rajasthan, Sakur Khan Mangaliyar, was apprehended on suspicion of spying for Pakistan's intelligence agency ISI. Security agencies from CID and intelligence units detained him in Jaisalmer and are likely to move him to Jaipur for further interrogation. Mangaliyar, who hails from a village near the Pakistan border, had Pakistani numbers in his phone and had visited Pakistan multiple times. Authorities are also exploring potential links between Mangaliyar and a senior Congress official, although no confirmations have been made on political associations. Investigations revealed deleted files on his phone and are scrutinizing his bank accounts for suspicious activities. This arrest follows a series of espionage-related detentions in Punjab and Haryana, including the arrest of travel vlogger Jyoti Malhotra for allegedly sharing sensitive data with Pakistani handlers. The crackdown on espionage in India has gained momentum after Operation Sindoor was initiated following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
