Bengaluru Police launched a big outreach called ‘Friends of Police’ involving 800 police personnel, including Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh. The mission focuses on building strong ties with the community and encouraging youth to help prevent crime. Police teams visited schools and colleges across the city. They gave presentations, talked with students, and urged them to join efforts against crime, drug abuse, cybercrime, and law-and-order challenges. So far, more than 10,000 students took a pledge to support the police and be their 'eyes and ears.' The goal is to include two lakh students in this network to make the city safer and better informed. Police Commissioner Singh said, "This is not only an awareness programme, but an initiative to strengthen police and public relationship." A student shared, "I am very excited interacting with the police, and I’ll help them to fight crime. The police officer also told us about how not to ride bikes without licence and use safety helmet."
