PATNA: The Bihar election drama just got more thrilling! On Monday, Jan Suraaj unveiled its second list with 65 candidates for the big Bihar assembly polls. But hold your breath — they didn’t name anyone for the star-studded Raghopur seat, a family fortress of the legendary Lalu Prasad Yadav. Tejashwi Yadav, the former deputy chief minister and star player of this seat, has been winning the crowd here since 2015 and again in 2020. His nomination day is set for October 15. Not just him, but his superstar parents — Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi, both former Bihar chief ministers — have also walked this political path triumphantly in the past. At a press conference, Jan Suraaj boss Prashant Kishor kept the suspense alive by not revealing who will contest from Raghopur. Earlier, on October 11, Kishor hinted that a candidate would be named soon for this prized seat. With these new names, Jan Suraaj has now picked candidates for 116 out of Bihar’s 243 assembly seats. "In the first list, we announced candidates for 51 seats. Candidates for the remaining seats will be announced later," Kishor said. The party is also shining a spotlight on diversity. Among the chosen, 31 candidates come from the most vulnerable sections of society, 21 are from other backward classes, and 21 are Muslims, showing a mix of voices ready for action. One interesting face is Hemant Choubey, fielded from Chainpur, who is the son of the late Lalmuni Choubey, a BJP veteran. This adds yet another twist in the colorful Bihar election saga. The race is heating up, especially with the mystery of Raghopur still unsolved. Will Jan Suraaj challenge the Yadav family’s stronghold? Wait and watch — Bihar politics is ready to dazzle once again!
