CM Stalin to Open Mega Agricultural Expo and Major Projects in Tiruvannamalai on Dec 26

Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will inaugurate a three-day mega agricultural exhibition on December 26 at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School playground in Tiruvannamalai. The event aims to attract at least one lakh farmers from the northern Tamil Nadu region.
Officials including Collector K. Tharpagaraj, Corporation authorities, and police inspected the venue. The Tiruvannamalai Corporation will handle water supply and garbage during the expo. "The civic body will handle basic amenities like water supply and garbage collection during the farm expo. During the visit, Mr. Stalin is also expected to inaugurate completed projects of the Corporation," said S. Selva Balaji, Commissioner of Tiruvannamalai Corporation.
The exhibition will showcase farm technology, seeds, equipment, government subsidies, and welfare schemes. Special sessions led by farming experts will share insights on advanced methods. Tribals from Jawadhu Hills will also join to discuss farming on difficult terrain.
Mr. Stalin’s visit on December 25-26 also includes chairing a meeting with party functionaries and unveiling a statue of late DMK leader M. Karunanidhi in Kilpennathur town.
On December 26, the Chief Minister will open several key projects. One highlight is a ₹12.17 crore two-storey building at the Collectorate for public grievance meetings and special camps. This 13,000 sq.ft facility can hold 700 people per hall.
Another major inauguration is a ₹30.15 crore modern bus terminus on Chennai - Tindivanam Road to replace the old 1988 terminus. Spreading over 6.6 acres, it features 70 bus bays, waiting halls, and parking.
To support farmers, Mr. Stalin will open a ₹24.50 crore combined wholesale and retail market for vegetables, fruits, and flowers. This market will end the use of temporary outlets in the town.
Officials have prepared a list of completed projects and welfare schemes to be launched during the visit, including financial aid distribution.
In all, Mr. Stalin’s visit aims to boost agriculture and infrastructure for the region’s benefit.
