Flight chaos at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) worsened on Monday, December 8, 2025, with IndiGo canceling 112 flights for the day, including 58 arrivals and 54 departures. This disruption marks the sixth day of trouble for the airline at Hyderabad. Since December 3, the total flight cancellations at RGIA have soared past 600.
Here are the daily cancellation counts:
- December 3: 31
- December 4: 74
- December 5: 155
- December 6: 144
- December 7: 126
- December 8: 112
IndiGo shared a status update on December 7, announcing operations resumed at 137 out of 138 destinations. They planned 1,650 flights that day, up from 1,500 the day before. The airline also stated their on-time performance improved sharply from 30% on December 6 to 75% on December 7. A full waiver is offered on cancellations and rescheduling for bookings until December 15.
But passengers still face serious issues. Many vented on social media, sharing their struggles:
Poornima Ramachandran said: "You have ruined three days of our life with your pathetic management. I had a flight from Guwahati to Hyderabad which got cancelled twice. I had to take another flight to Mumbai and then a train to Hyderabad which made me lose days of work and my aged father had to go through the pain."
Nawrah Fatima shared: "I am stranded with no clarity on my flight from Hyderabad to Surat. I have requested a cancellation and full refund, but there has been zero support. My father is unwell and depends on timely medication and food. This delay is critical for us."
Soumi Mukherjee added: "My flight from Hyderabad to Bagdogra has been cancelled, and there are no alternate airlines available. I am stuck in Hyderabad with no way to get home. Please assist urgently."
Passengers remain hopeful as IndiGo works to clear the backlog and restore smooth services.
