The Executive Officer of Yerradoddi Gangamma temple in Sri Sathya Sai district, Murali Krishna, was caught stealing. He took five kilos of silver ornaments and sarees gifted by devotees. Locals spotted him leaving the temple in an auto with his family. They stopped him and took him to the police station. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu acted fast. He ordered the suspension of Murali Krishna and asked the Endowments Department to file a case. Police found Murali Krishna guilty after a preliminary inquiry. A formal case is now registered against him. The incident shocked the temple community and local residents alike.
