Telangana Unveils First Road Sector Policy To Boost Infrastructure And Logistics

Telangana’s Minister for Roads & Buildings, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, has announced the state’s first-ever comprehensive Road Sector Policy. This policy sets long-term plans and investment strategies for the next 20 years.
Speaking at the Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025, the Minister said, “Telangana is poised to emerge as a logistics powerhouse with the establishment of a world-class dry port, enabling global trade access and boosting industrial capacity.”
He welcomed global investors, industry leaders, and policy experts, pointing out that the policy aligns with the Telangana Rising Vision 2047. The vision aims to turn Telangana into a major economic hub in South India and a globally competitive destination.
Highlighting the role of strong road networks, Mr. Venkat Reddy talked about key projects including the Regional Ring Road with radial links, and Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) road projects worth ₹11,399 crore. A proposed 8-lane Greenfield express highway will connect the two Telugu state capitals, featuring an elevated corridor reaching up to Srisailam.
The Minister also said Telangana is working on a robust aviation ecosystem to support global business travel, logistics, and tourism. Ending on an optimistic note, he said, “Telangana is not just growing, but rising.”
