A sack containing Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) was found dumped beside National Highway 12 in Nadia district, West Bengal, on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. Local residents spotted the sack near a garbage dump in Shantipur and informed police. Authorities took the voter cards to the station for verification and started an investigation. A member of the Shantipur Panchayat Samiti and a local Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader blamed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers from another district for deliberately dumping the cards. The BJP denied these claims. A BJP leader said, "The area where the voter cards were found is under the TMC-run panchayat. These are the very cards used for bogus voting." The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in West Bengal started on November 4 and is ongoing, with distribution of enumeration forms continuing until December 11.
