IndiGo Offers ₹10,000 Vouchers for December Flight Disruptions
December 11, 2025
IndiGo announced on December 11, 2025, that it will offer travel vouchers worth ₹10,000 to each passenger whose flights were cancelled or faced long delays during December 3-5. This move comes after severe operational disruptions left many customers stranded at airports with heavy congestion.
The airline said, "We will offer travel vouchers worth Rs 10,000 to such severely impacted customers. These travel vouchers can be used for any future IndiGo journey for the next 12 months."
These vouchers are in addition to the government-required compensation. According to IndiGo, under DGCA rules, passengers with cancellations within 24 hours of departure are entitled to ₹5,000 to ₹10,000 based on flight block time.
IndiGo is facing regulatory pressure and has been told to cut down its winter schedule flights by 10% to ease strain on operations. Before disruptions surfaced on December 2, the airline was flying about 2,300 flights daily.
IndiGo expressed regret over the inconvenience, stating, "It regrettably acknowledges that part of its customers travelling on December 3, 4 and 5 were stranded for many hours at certain airports, and a number of them were severely impacted by congestion."
