The Hindu's Science Festival and Ramanujan Spark Quest Come to Madikeri on Dec 13

The Hindu is holding its School Science Festival and Ramanujan Spark Quest (Maths and Science Olympiad) in Madikeri on December 13. The event takes place at Mythri Community Hall, FMC College Road, starting at 9 a.m. It welcomes students from Kodagu district for a free, inter-school contest to boost scientific curiosity and math skills. Teams will have two students from Class 6 to Class 10. They must arrive by 8:30 a.m. Participants will display innovative and cost-effective working models inspired by the Make in India concept. For Ramanujan Spark Quest, schools can nominate up to five students from Classes 6 to 10. The test has 50 multiple-choice questions to be answered in one hour. Questions cover science (physics, chemistry, biology) and math/mental ability, with 30 and 20 questions, respectively. Each question carries four marks, with a one-mark penalty for wrong answers. Ties are broken using math scores. Winners will receive cash prizes, trophies, and merit certificates. First and second runners-up also get prizes and certificates.
