Man Dies Electrocution Attempting to Save Pet Parrot on High-Tension Pole in Girinagar

A 33-year-old man named Arun Kumar died from electrocution on Friday morning in Girinagar. The man was visiting relatives in a residential apartment complex when his pet parrot flew onto a high-tension electricity pole inside the premises around 9.30 a.m. Arun tried to rescue the bird by tying a stick to an iron pipe and climbing a wall to reach it. While attempting this, he accidentally touched a live wire and received a fatal electric shock. He collapsed and died instantly at the scene, according to police. Arun Kumar is a native of Nagamangala in Mandya district. The Girinagar police have registered a case of unnatural death and are investigating the incident. Officials from the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) also inspected the site.
