Grand Mosque Starts Free Child ID Bracelets for Safer Pilgrimage
December 15, 2025
The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque in Saudi Arabia has launched a child safety program with free ID bracelets for children visiting the site. Families can get these bracelets at main entrances like King Abdulaziz and King Fahd Gates in Makkah. Parents give basic contact details, which are recorded on the bracelet. If a child gets lost in the crowd, staff find the child and contact their guardians quickly. This helps keep young pilgrims safe during peak times such as Hajj and Ramadan. Officials say this program improves social responsibility and supports peaceful worship. They advise families to collect the bracelets before entering and to inform mosque staff immediately if a child goes missing. Lost children are cared for until parents arrive. The initiative has already reduced missing child reports and gives peace of mind to parents visiting the holy site.
