Four Killed, Three Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Thoppur Ghat Road

Four people died and three were seriously injured in a crash on Thoppur Ghat Road in Dharmapuri district on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. The accident involved a lorry carrying cattle fodder from Maharashtra to Namakkal, driven by S. Munusamy (43) of Nadukkarapatti, Namakkal. Munusamy lost control of the vehicle and collided with a bike, a parcel van, a car, and another van. Munusamy and two passengers on the bike - P. Arunagiri and his sister V. Kalaiarasi of Madhemangalam near Nallampalli, died on the spot. Four passengers in one van were seriously hurt. Another victim, P. Dinesh (30) from Pethanaickenpalayam near Attur, Salem district, died en route to Dharmapuri Government Medical College Hospital. District Collector R. Sadheesh and Transport Department officials visited the site for inquiries. The Thoppur police registered a case and are investigating. Traffic was stalled for two hours before clearing, after authorities removed the wrecked vehicles from the road.
