The Kerala High Court has put a hold on all further court actions against K.P. Sasikala. Sasikala, leader of Hindu Aikya Vedi, was charged under Section 153 of the Indian Penal Code. The charge relates to a speech she gave on August 31, 2022, in Malappuram. Authorities said the speech was provocative and aimed to stir communal unrest. Sasikala appealed to the High Court, saying the FIR did not contain key legal details required for action under this law. She argued that the allegations reflected a "subjective perception of hurt sentiments." Sasikala firmly stated, "I never issued any call for violence." The High Court has stayed the proceedings by the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court, Malappuram, for three months. This pause means no further legal steps will be taken against Sasikala during this period.
