Telangana Rising Summit Unveils Vision 2047 and ₹5.75 Lakh Crore Investment Push
December 18, 2025
The Telangana Rising Summit, led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, was held earlier this month as the first major event since his Congress government took power two years ago. The summit launched the Telangana Vision 2047 document and was held at the planned Bharat Future City. Mr. Reddy invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi but called the event an economic summit, avoiding political links. The government faced challenges like land acquisition protests and legal blocks on local body reservation increases during its two years. Despite these, it fulfilled poll promises like the free bus scheme for women and attracted foreign investments through overseas trips. The Summit revealed plans to make Telangana a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and $3 trillion by 2047, focusing on inclusive growth. Ministers discussed opportunities and challenges, while MoU signings totaled investment commitments worth ₹5.75 lakh crore across sectors. The Bharat Future City, expected to cover 30,000 acres, will be a key development center, hosting many of these new projects. Unlike past land protests, the Future City faced no major opposition, reflecting the common interest in real estate developments in Telangana. Opposition parties criticized the Summit, with BJP calling it a cover-up of failures and BRS blaming the Congress-led government for taking credit. However, no one opposed the Future City. The Summit allowed the government to showcase progress and stake its claim to lead Telangana’s economic growth under the tagline “Telangana means business.”
