Dr. Lajapathirai Urges Indian Knowledge in School Curriculum at Valmiki Ramayanam Event

Dr. Hanumanthu Lajapathirai, former Vice Chancellor of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University and director of the Valmiki Research Center of Ramanarayanam temple, called for updating school curricula to include the Indian Knowledge System. He stressed that lessons should cover indigenous wisdom, heritage, culture, governance, philosophy, environmental practices, and traditional medicine. Dr. Lajapathirai shared his views at a two-day awareness programme titled 'Relevance of Valmiki Ramayanam for the present society-Indian Knowledge System-National Education Policy-2020' held at Government Degree College in Vizianagaram on Thursday. The college principal, K. Rekha, and Telugu lecturer M. Rama Geeta Devi thanked the Ramanarayam temple representatives. They highlighted essay competitions for degree students to promote awareness of the Ramayana and Lord Rama's dharma, continuing until January 2, 2026.
