The 17th Annual Conference of the Proteomics Society (India) was held at the CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) on Thursday. It focused on "Proteomics and Metabolomics: Innovation, Applications, and Impact." High-resolution mass spectrometry combined with advanced bioinformatics now allow deep analysis of cellular processes and disease pathways. This speeds up biomarker discovery and enhances the understanding of complex biological systems. Experts discussed applications in disease mechanisms, immunity, pharmaceuticals, clinical fields, and agriculture. Senior principal scientist Swasti Raychaudhuri, lead organiser of the event, said, "The conference catalyzes exchange of innovative ideas, knowledge, and resources, thereby advancing the frontiers of proteomics and metabolomics. The rapid evolution of these disciplines continues to expand their impact, fostering new collaborations and driving scientific breakthroughs." The event brought together scientists, research scholars, and industry leaders to celebrate progress and promote future innovations.
