The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in the UAE has temporarily stopped several important intercity bus routes. This step comes amid heavy rain, thunderstorms, and low visibility affecting highways. The suspended routes mainly connect Dubai with Sharjah and Ajman. Specific bus lines paused include E303, E306, E307, E307A, and E315 to Sharjah, and E400 and E411 to Ajman. Some services to Abu Dhabi also face pauses during the worst storm conditions. The National Centre of Meteorology warned of thunderstorms and hail. The RTA stated, "Your safety is our priority." Flooded roads like Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road led to this decision. Pausing buses reduces large vehicles on the roads, helping emergency teams manage drainage and clear blockages quickly. Dubai Police advise people to avoid travel unless necessary and stay indoors during the storm peak. The RTA will resume these bus services only once police and weather experts confirm the roads are safe. There is no fixed date for reopening. Commuters should check the RTA Twitter account, use the S’hail app, or call 800 90 90 for updates. Meanwhile, the Dubai Metro is still running and may operate longer hours to help those in the city. Many employees are urged to work from home to avoid travel issues. The RTA runs a Command and Control Centre and a dedicated "Flood Management Room" working 24/7 to monitor transport and weather conditions. The authority thanks the public for their patience and cooperation during this disruption.
