Residents of Bommanahalli are opposed to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)'s plan to repurpose a public community hall into a veterinary hospital. The Raitha Sipayi Mandira community hall has been a hub for cultural events and spiritual gatherings for eight years. The BBMP claims a lack of suitable sites for the hospital, prompting the controversial decision. Local residents, including former officials, argue that the hall was constructed using government funds in 2016 and has been consistently utilized by the community. The situation escalated when BBMP officials took possession of the hall and announced their intentions. More than 200 residents gathered to express their concerns and requested the BBMP to reconsider. Zonal Commissioner Ramya S assured the residents that she would review their plea and make a decision promptly.
