14 Injured in Bondi Attack Still Hospitalized; NSW Plans New Laws on Hate Symbols
December 21, 2025
Fourteen people injured in the Bondi terror attack are still being treated in Sydney hospitals, says NSW Health. Four patients are in critical but stable condition at St George and St Vincent’s hospitals. Eight others are stable and receiving care at Prince of Wales, Royal Prince Alfred, and Royal North Shore hospitals. It has been one week since 15 people died in the attack at a Hanukkah event on Bondi Beach. Australia will observe a national day of mourning on Sunday to honor the victims. Flags will fly at half-mast, and buildings will shine yellow as a sign of support for the Jewish community. Lights will also beam into the sky above Bondi Pavilion, where thousands of flowers and tributes have been placed. NSW Parliament will meet this week to consider new laws after the attack. NSW Premier Chris Minns announced the state will ban hateful symbols and give police stronger powers, matching national laws. Officials promise to share updates and reactions to these changes.
