Security forces have started a search operation in Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir. This follows reports that terrorists took food from a house in Chore Motu village and then fled into nearby forests. The joint operation by police and paramilitary teams is active in Chore Motu and nearby forest villages in the Majalta area. This region is about 5 kilometers west of where a recent deadly encounter happened. On late Saturday evening, security officials received intelligence that two unidentified terrorists visited Mangtu Ram’s house around 6:30 p.m. There, they took food before disappearing. Police and paramilitary forces rushed to the area but could not locate the terrorists. The forest near the village was sealed off, and a search from multiple sides began at first light on Sunday. The goal is to track down and neutralize the suspects. Earlier on December 15, a policeman was killed during an encounter with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) terrorists in the same Majalta area, at Soan village. The terrorists escaped due to thick forest cover and darkness. Security forces continue their efforts to keep the region safe.
